How creativity taught me something amazing about God.

I’m trying something new, or rather, new-ish.
Over the last year, and maybe even longer that I’ve become increasingly frustrated with instagram. And recently I’ve decided to really look at how I’m connecting with my audience. I don’t feel like instagram is workin in the way that it used to. I used to have a lot of fun posting there and talking with all of you. But now things are different. I’m a little burnt out on the constant upkeep, but I also feel like there is only a tiny handful of people who see my posts. I’m so grateful for the stalwart few who keep liking and commenting on my posts there.
The other trouble I’ve found with instagram is that you sort of have to pick a lane and stick with it. I have always loved fantasy art and will continue to create it, but I have also always loved children’s books and fine art and I want to work on these things as well.
It’s hard on instagram to switch lanes, posting fairies one day and a watercolor landscape either makes it hard for people to follow and become a fan, or the algorithm just doesn’t like it. (I think it’s a little of both, if I’m honest). But I’m not the type of artist who can just stick to the one thing. I really enjoy experimenting and exploring.
And because of this I’m thinking of putting most of marketing efforts into long form video. This video is my first experiment into that.
I recorded it twice, and went with the second version. (Practice makes better after all.) The two sketches on the left are the painting I created in the recordings. The small one is the one that actually made it into the video.
I hope you enjoy the video, and look forward to more of them.
